Halo: Rise of the Carrinton Empty
PostSubject: Halo: Rise of the Carrinton   Halo: Rise of the Carrinton EmptyThu Aug 23, 2012 1:48 pm

Welcome to the year 21XX.

The Covenant invaders, which once threatened humanity have been superbly stunted; the alien race condemning itself into a self-sustained recluse, as it licks its battle wounds the Flood and Earth's military defenses have dealt them.

Their morale and population has been decreased by as much as 85% in total; thus, they choose to no longer battle.

After 40 years of peace, Earth has been able to adjust to life once more, free from the strains of interplanetary warfare.

However, even as a new day seems to be dawning; a new evil seems to be brooding on the horizon of the distant Sun.

***********

A woman in her dark apartment room flips on her television, drinking something as she tries to wake up and start her day.

"Yawwwwn."

And hello! Good morning everyone! This is Wolf 8 News, reporting live! And-- what's this? We have a new story.. Wait! No! This is breaking news!!!!

Static. A video begins to play over the television screen.

Some young man of undiscerned nationality appears on the screen. He has tan brown skin and beautiful eyes.

"Hello, Earth.... This is I.... Carrinton Catarl!

"Some of you know me as.... well.... uh.. My name is Carrinton Catarl.

"I warned all you fools!!!! I told you all clearly on my daily statuses that I was going to take over the world someday!!!! And what did you do??? Nothing!! NOTHING AT ALL."

Murmuring, "Well... some of you did like the statuses... And surely, I appreciate that. BUT NOW THE TIME HAS COME FOR YOUR ULTIMATE DEMISE!!!!"

Image appears on video-screen. Shows an ice-blue, teal-coloured planet, with a white sun behind it.

"This, my friends," Catarl's voice continued, "Is my planet.... Planet Carrington.

"Yes... Indeed.... I may as well tell you all now, as I'm not much of a coward when it comes to producing my intentions....

"There is an alien race designed in MY OWN IMAGE here on this planet. There are several moderative types of 'Carrington' on this planet. For example, there are agile 'Carrington' there... and there are also sneaky 'Carrington' there.

"Yes. In case you have not noticed, I have named this alien race, and planet, after myself. Simply imputting a 'g' somewhere in the name, as to not confuse them with their superior Maker. Myself! Muwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha."

<_<;

"Ahem. Anyway. Well, yada yada yadda. My alien race is beginning to learn warfare, manifest their new abilities and whatnot. I play fair.

"Pretty much, my race of beings are only babies now. I'm giving you guys a heads-up so you can prepare for our little get-down.

"We're gonna fight.

"Whether out in space, or on your own lousy little planet i once called home.

"So yeah. You guys got three month before my babies are tutelaged and ready to assault you all.

"If you need any more information, feel free to contact me, please. My number is Galaxy Area code (07734) 555................." Tells them his phone number.

Carrinton Catarl showed his face on the monitor of all of the television screens across the globe again (assuming they were watching television on a network, or local channels, and not watching something on a DVD player, videogame console, or anything like that); his face shuddering with a deep, evil snicker.

"Good luck, friends.... You should have made this man an ally of yours.... INSTEAD OF SHUNNING HIS POTENT EXISTENCE!!!!

"See ya, Suckers!"

Suddenly it showed a muppet version of Catarl made out of a sock. Catarl's hand was obviously moving the puppet's mouth from a hidden entrance to the puppet at the bottom of its sock form.

The sock spoke.

"Please! We have lots of Earth money up here! Please, we will trade you money if you deliver quality pizza to us! We live on the far end of the--"

Catarl, "You fool! Shut up! Don't ask for aid from our ENEMIES.....!!!! But um... whatever. For the kid's sake, I don't mind paying for the pizzas......."

Sweatdrop.

"Bye."

The screen turned black.

3 Months Later.

A black man smoking a cigar came onto the screen of the Meeting Room.

They were in a large room, with a round table in its centre.

Against one wall was a large projector screen, and the dark-skinned man's face was shown in full form there.

"Hello Soldiers," the man began, wearing a senior captain's hat and some medals on the shirt of his breast.

"Well, it's game day. Hello Squad Jagerdon.

"As you all know, military around the world have been prepping for the next few weeks ahead of us.

"This is the first inning, of a serious ball-game.

"We can show em up and hit some serious, ground-shaking home-runs and shut em out by the fourth inning. Or we can make this a long, drawn out fight.

"Me personally? I prefer to knock 'em out in the second round. So! Here's the Game plan. Squad Jagerdon, you are to meet up with another military party from France on a military base on the planet Mars in about 3 hours. From there, we're going to be sending you guys to Venus; that's where the Carrington military leaders have told us will be our first battleground.

"I'll tell the France group as well. Keep your eyes open! We're going to be scouting Venus until you all arrive there, but still. With us playing on a field designated by our /enemy,/ we simply have to keep our eyes open.

"If anything, we'll just have you guys sit around Venus' orbit, just outside their atmospheral gravity, until we can negotiate something with the Carrington.

"Until then, head to the military base 'Fort Dale' about 30 miles south-east from your current location.

"I'll be in contact with you. Gear up, Soldiers. And keep your eyes open.

"Good luck, Spartan Captain 7711. And Marines, Spartans. You're in good hands."

The transmission ended.

Several spartans of different colours were in the room. They were accent marks to the several /more/ Marines in the room. The Spartans sort of looked like rare rainbow-fish amidst a bunch of tuna.

Spartan 7711, who wore a teal MJOLNIR suit, somewhat akin to the colour of the planet 'Carrington,' stood up from his chair.

Spartan 7711 was the senior Captain of Squad Jagerdon. His golden-yellow visor flashed reflection of the room's ceiling lights as he spoke to everyone with his natural voice; all of the Spartans and marines currently having their microphones and COMM links turned off.

"Alright, boys and girls. You heard the Captain. Pack your gear and get them stowed away in the Wart-Hogs. We're gonna be taking the road to get to Fort Dale.

"From there, we'll catch our ride and meet with the other Spartans."

Spartan Captain 7711 (Seven, Seven Eleven) was talking with some of the field directors for some time, uploading some information from the base's terminals onto the AI in his armour.

"Yoite," the Spartan said, now using his internal microphone, and making sure his COMM link radio was turned off so that no one in the general vicinity could hear him, whether via radio COMM link, or anyone in natural hearing distance of him.

"I'm going to need you to upload these maps to everyone in the Squad."

Popping up, a purple hologram figure in the shape of a female human appeared out of Spartan 7711's open right palm.

This hologram was a representation of the Artificial Intelligence program in Captain 7711's MJOLNIR battle armour. Each Spartan was equipped with high-class battle armour, far beyond the capacity of normal human armour, and, each Spartan also had their own AI companion. Each of these AI have their own unique personalities, and, at times, seem completely human.

Spartan Captain 7711's AI just so happened to be named 'Yoite.'

"Hello, Spartan Captain." Yoite said, duly. "Of course. It's not an honour to serve you," The AI continued in a mood far more chipper than usual.

"Huh? You okay?" Spartan 7711 asked.

The AI hologram figure smiled. "Just dandy."

. . .

Shrugging to himself, the male Spartan in teal-blue eventually moved over to one of the several armoury casings nearby, then packed his bag full of weapons and instruments, eventually making his way toward the vehicle garage on the first-floor.

Spartan Captain 7711, the captain of Squad Jagerdon, was just stowing away his bag full of equipment in the back seat of his Wart-Hog (4x4 driving vehicle), when suddenly he noticed a soldier up-stairs walking towards the Captain's Quarters.

"Field Specialist Allen," Spartan 7711 called out. "Hey! You looking for someone?" The Spartan asked. Shortly after, 7711's voice turned a bit gruff. "Don't tell me you forgot who your captain is!

"Get your gear and weapons, Allen. You're going to be riding with me!"

Spartan 7711's AI popped up from the visual holo-graph module equipped inside of the Spartan's visor.

His AI appeared, floating in the air in front of him.

"Ready your troops, 7711! Time is of the essence!"

Grimly, 7711 replied. "Aye.."

Turning to everyone in the base, on both the second, third and ground floors. "Everyone! Let's move! We move out in two minutes!"

Suddenly all the Spartans hopped to, grabbing weapons from the armouries and stowing multiple thousands of rounds in their pack-bags before suiting up and hopping into the several warthogs and a couple of Mongoose (two-man All-Terrain vehicles; very small in size; critically low-defense, but superior handling and manuevarability. The Wart-Hogs, on the other hand, can stow a driver and passenger, yet also has an anti-aircraft gun stowed on the back of the vehicle, which requires a gunner to use it. Thus, the Wart-Hog can carry 3 people at a time. Wart-Hogs also have great defense, as they are relatively dense and heavy.)

"We leave in T-minus 60 seconds!"

Everyone revved their engines and passengers stocked their weapons with magazines, while the gunners on the back of the vehicles tested out their anti-aircraft weapons, getting used to their controls.

Spartan Captain checked to make sure his vehicle was running well, before exiting and walking to the rear of his vehicle to wait for Field Specialist Allen to approach him.
